Wrapping Up The Week

Sociology
We finished A Child Called It today.  We'll be doing posters promoting child abuse awareness. I will also allow students to do their posters on bullying if they choose since David suffered teasing and name calling at school.  Rather than his classmates offering friendship to David, who was being brutally abused at home, they called him names and left him out of fun activities.
Students who brought their supplies at the beginning of the year will already have their poster boards in my room, but not every student did this. Many of our class markers which went into one big box have been stolen. For this reason, please bring markers for your poster activity.
Other things you may want to bring, stick on letters, magazine cut outs, print outs from home computer of images,  the phone number to child abuse hotline for Barbour County.
PLEASE NO BLOODY OR INJURED CHILDREN IN PHOTOS. These posters will be displayed for all grade levels to see in the halls.
We will be doing these posters in class.
On Friday (tomorrow) I will give students some information about child abuse and bullying.  Each student will make a plan for the poster on white paper. It will be like a model of their poster.
We will begin the actual project on Monday.
